This IDC study discusses the Hitachi Data Systems TagmaStore, Lightning, and Thunder series of midrange and enterprise products and provides a residual value forecast for all three. The TagmaStore family of products now spans the entire range from modular to enterprise-class systems. Of special interest to enterprise accounts will be the new levels of scalability, performance, and storage virtualization capabilities that the USP and NSC bring to the enterprise user.
"The HDS TagmaStore announcements over the past fifteen months provide significant new capabilities for both midrange and enterprise customers, including the ability to extend the life of older storage systems. Customers clearly have a very viable HDS alternative to consider for their 2006 storage buys," says William Roch, research director for IDC's Leasing Evaluation Service program.
